THEATRE STYLE:

A large-scale spectacle/performance.

Start of the performance: By twilight or later.

 

DURATION: 

± 60 minutes

 

(35 people) CREW OF CLOSE-ACT IN MALAYA:

- Performers (26):  14 actors, 1 cellist, 1 singer, 10 percussionists

- Crew (9):  - 1 production manager - 4 light and sound technicians - 2 persons for the balloon - 2 builders (mobile carriers)

 

 

BUILD UP TIME:

± 6 hours (including sound check en rehearsal).

Start build up minimal 8 hours before the beginning of the performance

 

BREAK DOWN TIME:

± 3 hours.

 

TECHNIQUE:

- Light: We use our own light (light scheme available on request)

- Sound: We use our own sound (sound scheme available on request)

 

DETAILS: 

- We use open fire and Bengal’s fire.

- The performance is played among the public.

- The performance can on request be played with a smaller cast.

- It is of important to visit location site in advance.

 

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

LOCATION DEMANDS

Ground and size of location: Malaya is partially performed among the public and therefore needs a spacious location.

 

- A performance area from a minimum of 40 meters broad and 40 meters deep is required.

- A drive up lane to the performance area of minimal 5 meters broad and 7 meters height. This is necessary for the balloon and the mobiles that are used during the performance.

- Firm, sturdy and non slippery underground.

 

LOCATION AVAILABILITY: 

- During 8 hours prior to the beginning of the performance free access to location site.

- Possibility for a run through with sound technicians and also to sound check and a dry run/ rehearsal at the location site.

- After the performance break down will start. Location site must surely remain lighted till 3 hours after end of performance.

 

TO BE DELIVERED BY ORGANISATION

 

 

Dressing rooms:

- Dressing rooms with running water and toilets near performance site.

- Dressing rooms must be furnished with enough tables, chairs and mirrors.

 

 

TECHNIQUE AND MATERIALS:

- Electricity: 3 phased electric power CEE-form 100kVA (by preference stabilized aggregate).

- Protecting roofs for direction/control-panel (3 stage parts 2 m x 1 m), 3 technicians and mix tables.

From this direction/control panel, light and sound are regulated and also central stage direction takes place.

- 5 crush-barriers as palisades to the fire baskets. These crush-barriers are placed in the middle of the location site.

- 60 Bengal’s fire per performance

- 200 m3 helium for the balloon

 

 

SECURITY DURING PERFORMANCE

- 7 security officers during the performance (they may be from the fire department).

4 are necessary around the mobiles, 1 by the balloon and 2 by the fire baskets.

 

SECURITY DURING AND AFTER PERFORMANCE

Security is also needed for direction/control panel and stage props.

Stage props are by preference build at various places offstage. Therefore we speak about 3 different build up places.

- 3 people who look after our stage props (2 mobiles/ 2 birds and direction/control panel) during builder’s lunch/diner breaks and while changing into costumes and putting on make-up. (These security people may be the same as used during performance).

- By more then 1 performing day we also need overnight security for scenery, stage props, mobiles and direction/control panel.

 

 

INTERPRETERS

2 English speaking interpreters.

(Does not apply by Dutch, German and English-spoken countries!)

- 1 for the production.

- 1 for the performers.

(Under consultation we can deliver our own interpreters for French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese spoken countries).

 

MEALS & DRINKS: 

- Coffee /Thee/ Soft drinks and sandwiches at the location site during build up and break down time.

- Warm meal for 35 persons to be served 3 hours before beginning of performance. 

 

PARKING PLACES NEEDED:

for 3 vans, 2 trucks and 5 cars.

 

OVERNIGHT STAYS (DEPENDS OF DISTANCE AND LOCATION:

for 35 persons.
