Saurus was a great success at Jakarta.
Aldo the cargo arrived to late we manage to perform. Here a short review from Vivanews:

 

 

Pileau at two festivals in Mexico Festivale International de Teatro de Calle at Zacatecas 15-16 October The 39th Festival International Cervantino at Guanajuato 21-22-23 October This was a real experience. The locations were beautiful. Zacatecas and Guanajuato are both on the world heritage list. But what we liked the most was the audience. They were super enthusiastic. We want to go back as soon as possible!

 

The Toronto Buskerfest Street theatre festival (Canada). It was our second invitation for this festival. The first time we brought Saurus and this time the XL Insects. Somehow the Toronto audience like scary performances. The harder they shout the more they like it. 

    

 

The premiere of Convoi Exceptionnel was at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival Tynemouth (United Kingdom) Convoi Exceptionnel is a large scale parade with big carts, stilt walkers, fire performers,drummers and a very loud speaker system driving behind the parade.

    

 

Deventer on Stilts: The premiere of Invasion. Invasion is a performance where 9 Saurusses have the leading role. Actually it was specially made for Deventer on Stilts. I was a big success therefore we decided to continue playing the performance.

      

 

New act STX: These percussionists on stilts express themselves in a curious combination of strict discipline and frantic behaviour. In June it performed at “Mooi Weer Spelen (Netherlands) and Festival Coleur Café(Belgium) and in August at the Waterbei festival. In July at our favourite festival Deventer on Stilts and as part of Convoi Exceptionnel at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival>

      

In May we had festival: Les Rues Joyeuses at Tourcoing (France). The performance was ActRed.Flag-dancers on stilts, a flying singer, percussionists on electric drums and fire performers lightening the show. Beautiful pictures made from this performance. 

     

 

In the first week of May Saurus performed at the Ansan Street Arts Festival. (South-Korea) Saurus: A mobile act, interactive with the audience. Reactions: Super positive!

     

 

At 28 Apr we played Malaya at the 13th Sabancý International Theatre Festival at Adana (Turkye) Malaya was the end show of the festival. It started with a parade bringing the people to the performance area in front of the train station. The performance was a big success!

     

 

The premiere of La Oposicion 16 April Candelaria Bogota (Colombia) Colombian - Dutch performance This is a coproduction between Teatro Taller de Colombia and Close-Act. It was a real experience and great colombian artists to work with. Later it performed also at Festival Manizales in Colombia but also next year at FITB in Bogota.

 

 

In the beginning of April we head on to Klein Karoo National Arts Festival at Oudsthoorn (South Africa) White Wings made a parade together with locals. A few days before the parade we started on workshops with flags and drums. It was a big success.

     

 

Scarborough (United Kingdom) Parade Saurus, STX and Black Shapes at Coastival February 2011. This was a good combination! The drumming force STX and the mysterious drama of the Black Shapes really increases the impact. 

 

Saurus performed the first week of February at the Chaoyang Spring Festival in Beijing (China) This is in the same period as the Chinese New-year: The year of the rabbit. One whole week of fireworks makes earplugs really necessary. Big fun walking with the Saurus trough the park!
